Demolition of the decommissioned water treatment plant
Delta Group was engaged by BHP Billiton Iron Ore for the demolition of the decommissioned Newman Water Treatment Plant. The SOW included the demolition of sulphuric acid tanks and pumps, carbon dioxide degasser towers, caustic soda mixing, storage and dosing plant, ion exchange vessels, and the Water Treatment Plant Building.
Delta Groups Project Execution Team set themselves up in Newman, and proceeded to demolish the NWTP and remediate the site with the aid of excavators with specialised demolition attachments. The Project was successfully completed the Project on time and with no injury.
