Job Description

Delta Group is looking for a qualified and experienced Construction Manager to join our Latrobe Valley & Gippsland division and to manage the execution of large scale civil earthworks projects across the local Renewables, Energy, Oil & Gas, and Mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client and Contractor Negotiations: ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Project Coordination: manage labour, plant equipment, subcontractors, and materials in line with project schedules.
  • Tender and Contract Preparation: prepare tenders and contract bids.
  • Project Management: adhere to legislation and company processes and protocols.
  • Client Management: maintain strong client relationships.
  • KPI Establishment: set and achieve project KPI targets.
  • Cultural Development: foster an excellent culture across projects.
  • Project Reporting: complete project reporting, including cost tracking, forecasting, and QSE reporting.

To succeed in this role you will have a range of skills and attributes, including:

Essential

  • Local: you are resident of the Latrobe Valley and/or broader Gippsland region
  • Experience: 8+ years in construction/ related fields.
  • Qualifications: formal qualification in Construction Project Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Project Management: experience managing large-scale construction projects (>$10M+) and/or projects in the oil & gas sector for Tier 1 clients.
  • Safety Passion: commitment to people and their safety.
  • Decision Making: high-level decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Software Proficiency: advanced skills in scheduling, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Tender Preparation: experience preparing tenders and contracts valued over $10M+.

Desirable

  • International Experience: experience managing projects internationally.
  • Modelling Software: proficiency in using modelling software to support method statement presentations.
