Job Description

Our Latrobe Valley & Gippsland division in Victoria is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support our team. As a Project Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of complex and significant enabling works projects. You are a confident leader and capable manager of key stakeholder relationships, with a record of excellence in quality, safety, and environmental performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering and Project Management: oversee civil construction projects, including the development and implementation of project management plans.
  • Project Scope and Performance: manage project scope, program, contract management, financial management, and overall project performance.
  • Work Planning: plan and coordinate work in line with Delta Group’s triple certified QSE management systems.
  • Drawing Interpretation: interpret and interrogate project drawings.
  • Standards Compliance: apply relevant Australian Standards.
  • Risk Management: conduct risk assessments and manage risks effectively.
  • Project Sequencing: develop and approve sequencing and staging plans.
  • Cost and Production Tracking: track costs and production accurately according to budget.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance: develop documentation, review specifications, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement: engage with clients and key stakeholders, and manage project-related subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Site Liaison: liaise with Site Supervisors/Foremen.
  • Procurement and Purchasing: manage procurement and purchasing, including contract management for all projects.
  • Estimating and Variations: develop estimates and variations, including man hours, costs, and quantities.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: plan, monitor progress, and report, including conducting audits and inspections.
  • Continuous Improvement: contribute to the continuous improvement of QSE management systems.

To succeed in this role you will have a range of skills and attributes, including:

Essential

  • Local: you are resident of the Latrobe Valley and/or broader Gippsland region
  • Experience: minimum of 3 years in the construction industry.
  • Qualifications: relevant construction-related qualifications, including tertiary degrees in engineering and construction management.
  • Safety Commitment: passion for people and their safety.
  • Residency: permanent residency.
  • Licensing: valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Communication Skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking: proven capacity to multi-task.
  • Time Management: excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and follow up.

Desirable

  • Software Proficiency: high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 packages, with strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility: willingness to travel and/or relocate to projects as needed.
