Covering almost one-fifth of the city centre, the $3b development of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will change the city skyline forever.
Under intense public and media scrutiny Delta Group successfully completed the tallest demolition project ever undertaken in Brisbane.
In partnership with Probuild and the Destination Brisbane Consortium, our comprehensive works programme overcame a series of unique challenges that included working at night to minimise disruption to high density CBD pedestrian and vehicular traffic, as well as the separation and protection of heritage listed structures which were central to the future design and amenity of the $3b development.
Another key component was the onsite recycling and reuse of more than 10,000t of concrete to design and construct a significant piling platform. In total, we recycled more than 95% of all construction and demolition waste, including 50,000t of concrete and 2,000t of scrap steel that would have otherwise been destined for landfill.
Our team was responsible for more than 10 different trades onsite and the safe capture, removal and transport of 255t of asbestos contaminated waste. Our strict emissions, noise and vibration controls, combined with excellent transport logistics and traffic management, ensured we satisfied the high expectations of a diverse group of stakeholders and delivered a successful handover to our clients for the next stage of construction.
Unrivalled commercial demolition expertise featuring landmark structures in urban environments.
